The Peril of Letting Your Daughter to Pick Her Own Presents
Ahh, only 2 more months until “It’s the most wonderful time of the year!”. I have to admit that I actually really look forward to the holiday season. Everyone and everything seems more peaceful. Except for when it comes to kids toys. I guess parents kind of go into a panic. Everyone wants the best for their children. Which is fair enough. The toy companies know this, and they feed off it. I think this year, the must have toy for my daughter is Rapunzel. Everything Rapunzel. Even her birthday party is going to have a “Rapunzel” theme. Good job Disney, you’ve done your job. She is obsessed.
I am kind of dreading when she gets older and wants more expensive toys. I asked her what she wanted for her 5th birthday and this is what I got: “Mommy, I want a computer like yours.” (which happens to be a desktop) “I don’t want a toy computer that teaches you abc’s and math,
I want a real computer that I can watch movies on, and listen to music as well as play games.” Why did I even ask? She did come by it honestly though. Her daddy is a tech geek. I guess I could somewhat be considered one too. Only my toys aren’t nearly as fun as the ones her daddy has. I guess I should be happy that she’s excited to get a Rapunzel plush doll while all the gifts on her list are £25 and below. Wonder how much longer that’s going to last….
