YSL arrives in Madrid

Starting on day 6 of Madrid Mapfre Foundation will host an exhibition dedicated to one of the biggest fashion: Yves Saint Laurent. A retrospective of the designer who understood like no one’s femininity and sensuality of women.

“It was a very complex man, driven both by two forces, past and future. And the combination of both that made him so special, “said the curator of the exhibition, Florence Müller.

The exhibition begins with his early days as chief assistant to Christian Dior, who later would design for your front line staff. In 1958 he took the first collection bearing his name, Saint Laurent Rive Gauche. The actual study of the designer has been rebuilt with the hearts of glass figurines of dogs and the golden thimble so fond.

From this Thursday until January 8 Institute of Culture of the Mapfre Foundation opens the doors of life YSL: 150 models haute couture and prêt-a-porter, more than 80 drawings, photographs and films. An exhibition worth seeing.
